What relevance do tapestries have today?

Tapestries have been made continuously in Europe since the 12^th century. They were originally made as decorations.  But also insulated walls or provided privacy, for example around beds as hangings, told stories or recorded events and were an indication of status. In early times they were hand woven, but today are made on the latest high tech looms. Highly skilled craftsmen design new styles and reproduce some of the best classical pieces from early times.  Each tapestry is a work of art with a unique texture and colours specific to that piece.

In past times, only the rich or noble could afford to have a tapestry made. Tapestries were considered part of your assets along with the gold and silver plate. However, today tapestries are available and affordable for everyone to enrich their lives & living spaces!
